Getting Pretty for the Cine

What a great weekend!

SURPRISE 1:
We are taking the girls 5-8th grade to the Cinema.

   After classes on Friday, the girls did a little homework and then were off, dressed in their best jeans and hair just so haha. We did not go to the grand Cine Center, but one more in the middle of one of the streets that was a little older. A building full of diff. offices, but one large cine room on the main floor.
It was a class project for Carla, one of the older girls in Uni.
     They showed The Grownups. I had trouble understanding a lot if it, and didn´t think it was entirely appropriate for 5th graders, but it was slightly entertaining. We took public transport and the whole way there at each clothing store, shoe store, or other such tienda the girls oohed and ahhed over the clothing. They don´t get to the city much, so it was funny.

SURPRISE #2 :
We are taking the younger girls who danced for the Madre General to the pool!

    After Mass this past Sunday, we went to the pool. The girls all tried on swimsuits to see what fit, it was really cute. A couple of them just wore tank tops and shorts. On the way, we met Amelia´s dad (one of the kinder girls). he was coming to visit, but she wanted to swim. He´s a taxi driver and decided he´d take us ALL in his little car. There were 18 of us squashed in this little taxi, with one girl in the trunk! we were all on laps, prob. the most uncomfortable car ride. I was in front with Asha and we each had a girl on our lap. I was next to the stick, so every time he had to shift, I had to lift my left side with Amelia, but it was quite the ride.
    The pool wasn´t too far. It was so cute seeing all the girls in the intertubes there going around. Not many of them actually knew how to swim so each of us had about two kids to take around the pool, luckily it wasn´t that deep. It was pretty green though. We breaked for warmth and hamburgers and then went back in for some more. I taught a couple older girls to dive. They had so much fun, it was super cute. Then such troopers! We all walked back to the hogar, like 40 minutes, after a fun few hours in the pool. The pool cost about $2 US for kids under 10 and $3.50 for those older, not quite cheap for bolivia, but totally worth it!
